I have my interface which is a picture of a Yakuza Koala Bear. I have links for part of the story with the text – such as Sugar Coating is part 1 of the webcomic, chocolate center is the middle comic part, the crunch part has the animation clip where I filmed the chocolate koala bears versus the gummi bear candies. The aftertaste has the conclusion of the story. I need to figure out a way to have some text or some way of explaining the storyline. Maybe add some text or something? I also need to figure out how to put that French song and segment sections of it or something. I also want to put some gunshot noises with the stop motion animation clip. For the other pages I need to figure out other links to different types of content. Perhaps I can make little icons to click on to like information about how the candy is made, background information on Yakuzas and gangs, and a link to some random videos such as the exploding candy or microwaved gummi bears.

More limitations

September 24, 2007

If I wanted to edit my templates it says that I can only do it with the CSS upgrade. You can only alter some of the styling of an existing theme. Adding or removing any html is not allowed for security reasons.

Here is the link.

Embedding music

September 24, 2007

Testing how to embed a music file onto my blog.

This song is by Emilie Simon and is called Flowers.

This says that you need to find an mp3 file on the web and there can be a small link to play the song below. Either that or you have to register for Sonific which adds a Music Widget onto your site. This music widget will allow you to have several songs on a playlist that you have created on that site and then it will stream onto your blog.

Link that tells you how to embed music.

Also – perhaps for the design of my blog and website I can create a bunch of different Gummi Bear Characters – from Gummi Bear zombies to Gummi Bear Monsters to Gummi Bear Micheal Jacksons, etc. I think making images like that would be amusing. However, I’m trying to think of what kind of audience my website and blog would attract.

I’m going to see if some of these music files from Project Playlist embed and work. I could use this site in the future to add well known songs onto my blog or website.

This doesn’t seem to work. The embedded code will not make a playlist for Word Press. I know it works for Myspace and Facebook. Maybe adding a link to the Project Playlist would work?

Rough sketch

September 21, 2007

Here is a first sketch of a Gummi Bear Gangsta character that I want to design my blog with. It isn’t colored in yet but here is my initial idea.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I had to log onto my Photobucket account and upload a Jpeg pic I sketched on Photobucket. I used my small wacom tablet and graphic pen to make this. It is a really rough sketch but maybe it can be more interesting if I work on it more. I also need to find more content of different types to post on this blog and experiment with. Perhaps I can find other video file formats to play around with.

Getting my own domain

September 19, 2007

I have no experience in web design and I am learning a lot so far by getting my own domain. I bought a year’s subscription with Blue Host so I can start making my own website with my own domain. My domain name is tmangut.com which is a combination of my first and last name.

A student next to me helped me by explaining that I am supposed to enter my account information on Dreamweaver. She said that the changes I make onto Dreamweaver will transpose onto my website. I also have to think of a certain identity on my website that I want viewers to see. I’m not quite sure what I want to put onto my website. What kind of identity should I try to portray? After hearing my professor explain all the possibilties with this class – video, audio, html/javascript code, dreamweaver, etc. there seems to be a lot that you can do in this class. It’s almost overwhelming with all of the possibilities.
